A staircase was required to fit in with the current interior design and panelling that we also produced for the client. A rustic, iron handrail was a specific requirement to compliment the panelling.
Its a fairly basic staircase in terms of the structural design and build but it blends in beautifully with the panelling and the 'wrought iron' balustrade. To achieve the rustic, tired look of the iron it was passed through a forge to blacken it and then hand beaten to tenderise it. This gives the iron its patina (soft surface finish) and is then finished off with a natural wax. The stairs themselves were manufactured using a combination of materials suited to their role in the construction.
Achieving the requirements of the client, this staircase looks fantastic housed in the panelling and is contrasted starkly by the 'wrought iron' railing. Good looking, constructed beautifully and finshed to a very high standard.
