The Brief
Balconies, panels, ceilings and boardings were required throughout this entire building. Existing steel work was already in place so all the work needed to be manufactured around it.
Design & Materials
We were subcontracted by another joinery firm to complete this work. CNC manufactured radiused birch, plywood sound absorption panels throughout the atrium. Notably to the underside of each balcony around the floors. Modern measuring techniques and CAD techniques able to manufacture/design suggest an improvment by radiusing panels and slots to follow lines of curved steel work. Opposed to there being faceted which was the original design. Each panel was individually labelled and packed sent complete with location information for fitting.
